I presented Dr. Gelfand with a difficult diagnostic problem --- prior to the visit he studied my MRI, and on arrival took new X-rays. After examining my injuries, he reviewed the X-rays and MRI with me, from several different angles. It was clear that he had analyzed the facts and reached a conclusion -- but he took the time to carefully walk me through it, by explaining the significance of the various markings on MRI and X-ray. He then recommend a logical action plan - starting with the most conservative approach, and including additional approaches depending on how the first steps go. When we finished, for the first time after four months of symptons, I finally felt that we had an understanding of the condition and an excellent treatment plan.
